This year's Musica Polonica Nova festival features the programme of the 2020 edition, which did not take place due to a pandemic. This programme will relate to what surrounds us - redefine what music is and set new paths for artistic work. The festival’s motto in 2022 will be "daCamera".
daCamera - appreciation for chamber music
Less is more – I would like to encourage you to perceive chamber music this way. It is natural that great concert halls and monumental works performed by symphony orchestras impress us. Sometimes, however, it is worth focusing your attention on details, which – like an image formed in a lens – emphasize the musical beauty.
daCamera – active use of space
During some festival events, we want to give up the traditional division into stage and audience. Thanks to this, you will become full participants of the concerts: you will be able to move around and thus decide for yourselves how to perceive individual pieces.
daCamera – a combination of musical and visual spheres
The time of the pandemic has moved contemporary music, like other genres of art, to the online sphere. At the next edition of the festival, during the concerts, a strong presence of attractive visual aspects will be perceivable as equal and enriching the spectrum of the musical layer. We will combine music with video art, performance and intermedia. The image used during the concert changes the perception of sound and enables us to perceive the presented pieces in a wider context. Hear more by looking? It is worth finding out that it is exactly so!
The festival will last five days, during which seven concerts will take place – not only in concert halls, but also in the foyers of the National Forum of Music. Accompanying events are also planned, such as meetings with artists, an improvisational ‘after hours’ stage and an installation – a concert organized jointly with BWA in a gallery space.
See you at the festival!
