Tibia, Tuba and Fistula

Tibia, tuba, fistula – medieval theorists used these Latin terms to describe the various wind instruments used in various situations – whether to emphasize the glory of power, to make music in the chambers, or to play folk music – some were brought from outside Europe in the wake of the Crusades. We invite you to this year’s Forum Musicum, during which we will hear their sound not only in concert situations – medieval music-making on loud wind instruments will take place in the urban spaces of Wrocław, and the Great Renaissance Ball will allow you to have fun with music, as it used to be in the past centuries.
